Mutoh XpertJet 1642WR PRO waterbased/sublimation printer delivers extremely fast, flexible, reliable and high-quality production. It is the successor to Mutoh’s award winning Value-Jet 1638WX water based model providing a professional industrial solution for sublimation or sign&print businesses who don't want to compromise between productivity and excellent print quality. The robust, strongly built roll-to-roll printer with its double, staggered, new generation 1600-nozzle AccuFine print head offers an outstanding print speed of up to 61 m²/h with a print width of 1615 mm (63,58"). This is accompanied by a number of intteligent features found only in Mutoh machines which provide excellent print quality and an improved user experience.

Our offer inlcludes the original Mutoh sublimation dye inks, which are suitable for wide-format sublimation transfer printing, as well as direct printing on polyester textiles, and the the usual Full service from Signdepot.

Better than ever print quality with double AccuFine printhead

Mutoh has been integrating piezo printheads since 1999. Due to decades of experience and continuous development, their printheads are now worthy opponents of the most well-known brands. The updated “PRO” model of Mutoh XpertJet 1642WR waterbased/sublimation printer is equipped with two, staggered, new generation, 1600-nozzle AccuFine inkheads, which ensure best in class drop placement accuracy even at high printing speed. Contrary to conventional printheads, AccuFine printheads have a higher density nozzle pitch contributing to higher image quality, and an increased nozzle row length, which enables higher productivity. Due to this development, Mutoh XpertJet 1642WR PRO can be print at an outstanding speed of up to 61 m²/h, the lowest available print resolution is 300x600dpi and the highest available print resolution is 1200×1200dpi.

Four head heights are available ranging from 1.5 to 4 mm, which provides wide media compatibility. The Piezo Variable Drop Technology ensures perfect coverage and precise ink landing from the thinnest to the thickest materials.

Intelligent features for smooth workflow

Mutoh XpertJet 1642WR PRO waterbased/sublimation printer provides high level of user comfort and stable production with its built-in intelligent features.

DropMaster2: Ensures automated bi-directional alignment across varying media thicknesses, delivering precise
prints without manual adjustments.
FeedMaster: Provides automated media feed adjustments, ensuring smooth, consistent media feeding for optimal print accuracy and reducing the need for manual corrections.
Nozzle Area Select: Eliminates downtime and provides uninterrupted printing by automatically selecting only active nozzle blocks in the event missing nozzles cannot be recovered.
Media Tracker: Prints a barcode on each roll before it is removed. Upon reloading, a laser scans the barcode to accurately measure the remaining media, eliminating guesswork and preventing disruptions during printing.

Multi-level pinch rollers

Mutoh XpertJet 1642WR PRO features newly designed pinch rollers for smooth feeding and transport of various media, including thin or slippery substrates. Each roller's pressure is adjustable for optimal performance.

Motorised Take-up System

To optimize workflow and increase productivity, you can setup Mutoh Xpertjet 1642WR with a motorized torque controlled take-up system, which is linked to the printer and follows the start and stop of printing.

You can choose from the following options to best suit your printing needs:

30 kg / ∅200 mm roll-off system + 30 kg / ∅150 mm take-up system*
40 kg / ∅200 mm roll-off system + 40 kg / ∅250 mm take-up system
100 kg / ∅250 mm roll-off system + 100 kg / ∅250 mm take-up system

*Standard converted rolls may increase in diametre and weight during printing. To handle full rolls from start to end, a winder 40 kg is recommended.

Genuine Mutoh sublimation dye inks

The key to Mutoh's success is that all development is done in-house, resulting in 100% coordinated systems. This also includes consumables: they have developed dedicated inks tuned to specific piezo heads, covering specific applications to achieve the perfect end results. For Mutoh XpertJet 1642WR PRO waterbased/sublimation printer it's the DS3 All-Round HC Dye Sublimation ink.

Sublimation: more vibrant colors, more durable prints

You can use Mutoh ValueJet XpertJet 1642WR PRO printer for sublimation transfer printing or direct printing of textiles with at least 80% synthetic fibres (e.g. polyester), or sublimation transfer printing of hard objects with sublimation coating. In case of sublimation transfer printing you print on roll sublimation transfer paper, from which you then transfer the ink to the substrate using a large-format heat press or a roll-to-roll heat treatment calender. The dye is transformed into a vapour by the heat treatment, so that it is incorporated directly into the molecular structure of the fibre material, producing extremely durable prints that resists environmental influences. You can produce a wide range of high quality fashion items, home decor textile, display products as well as customized unique gift products with this technology. Just to name a few: sportswear and fitness clothing items, swimwear, synthetic clothing, flags, decorative cushions, curtains and other home textiles, textile pictures, textile banners and other textile display products, as well as customized products of different scales. In case of direct sublimation printing of polyester textiles, you will also need a large format heat press roll-to-roll heat treatment calender to fix the ink, but by directly printing onto the textile, without the intermediary of the transfer paper, you spare time and money, thus increasing your productivity and profit.
